To ensure your safety and the safety of other visitors and staff, we require you provide your contact details so we can get in touch with you in the event of a coronavirus (COVID-19) related incident. This information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic).
You must not enter or remain in the building if you have any of the following symptoms:
shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
new loss of taste or smell.
We reserve the right to ask you to leave the building if you do not comply with current DHHS coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines.
On arrival, all visitors to the Victorian Archives Centre are required to sign in via QR code, provide contact details and proof of COVID-19 vaccination. For information on how to get proof you have been vaccinated, please visit: coronavirus.vic.gov.au/vaxproof.
Whilst undertaking research in the Reading Room please observe the following conditions:
adhere to social distancing requirements, leaving 1.5 meters between yourself, other members of the public and staff
read the researcher instructions provided at each desk before viewing records
vacate the Victorian Archives Centre following the conclusion of your Reading Room booking
use the hand sanitiser provided and ensure your hands are dry prior to handling records in the Reading Room and prior to departure
limit your use of computers to 30 minutes
use wipes provided to wipe down a public computer prior to and at the conclusion of use by you
refrain from partaking in refreshments at the Archives Centre
In order to support these activities the Reading Room is subject to strict attendance limits. Please make only one booking per person per time slot. Multiple bookings for the same slot will be cancelled.
